If you own in Woodridge, your week isn't really organized around one place. It runs on two: the resident-only stuff inside The Willows, and the walkable stack of things on Festival Plaza Drive and Rampart. For a long stretch those felt like separate audiences. In 2026 they stopped feeling that way, and the reason is worth spelling out.
The short version: The Willows still has the private amenities that made buyers sign here in the first place, but the public layer around it has quietly rebuilt itself over the last six months. Two rooms turned over at Downtown Summerlin. A dining hall at The Resort at Summerlin filled in. The Aviators dropped a season-long homestand into August. Add it up and the neighborhood works differently at 7 p.m. on a Wednesday than it did a year ago.

Hub One is inside the gates of the village. Willows Park sits at 2775 Desert Marigold Lane on 12.7 acres, with a resident-only pool that has beach-style entry, two water slides, and a fountain, plus two lighted softball fields and a full-sized basketball court with three hoops. Spotted Leaf Park adds 10.5 acres with two lighted tennis courts, two lighted soccer fields, and its own basketball court. Willows Paseo Park stretches 4.6 acres of linear trail through the middle of the village and carries the four oversized Aesop's Fables sculptures. From Woodridge you get all three without a car.
Hub Two is what you walk or short-drive to. Downtown Summerlin at 1980 Festival Plaza Drive. Las Vegas Ballpark two miles off. The Resort at Summerlin at 221 N. Rampart. That layer is where the changes happened.
The reason the two-hub read matters: the Willows amenities aren't seasonal. Lighted tennis and basketball extend usable hours well into the evening, which in a valley that runs extremely hot during summer afternoons is the difference between a park that gets used and one that doesn't. Hub One holds the daily rhythm. Hub Two provides the plot points.
An Actual August Calendar, Not A Category List

The single most useful thing on that grid for a Willows resident is the middle chunk. The Aviators' 2026 schedule delivers a season-long 12-game homestand from Aug 4 through Aug 16, six against Tacoma followed immediately by six against Sacramento. That's a stretch of twelve consecutive walkable nights of Triple-A baseball inside a ballpark that averaged 6,559 fans across 75 dates in 2025. If you were going to buy a season pass to the neighborhood, this is the month it prints.
What Actually Changed On Festival Plaza Drive
Two storefronts at 2010 Festival Plaza Drive turned over within roughly six weeks of each other. SkinnyFats, which had been in Downtown Summerlin since November 2017, closed at Suite 170. Beer Zombies Draft Room closed at Suite 140. Beer Zombies didn't leave the valley, though; founder Chris Jacobs said the team went back to the original at 8680 W. Warm Springs, Suite 170, with draft beer plus full cocktails and beer to go.
The SkinnyFats space is where the more interesting story happened. Marufuku Ramen took it over and opened Wednesday, Feb 4, 2026, with a Lohan School of Shaolin lion dance and Marufuku-branded chopsticks for the first 100 guests. It's the second valley location for the San Francisco original; the first is at The Bend in the southwest. The Downtown Summerlin room adds kushiyaki, cocktails, and an outdoor patio to the ramen format.
Read the swap directly. The landlord traded a decade-old modern-American concept for a destination room with a specific culinary point of view and a patio. That is a bet about what the residents around Town Center want at that address in 2026.
The Resort At Summerlin Is No Longer A Room You Pass
For years, most Willows residents drove past 221 N. Rampart without stopping. That changed in March. Two Los Angeles imports opened inside the Neighborhood Food Hall on back-to-back weeks:
- Tacos 1986 opened Tuesday, March 17, with a mariachi band and free tacos for the first 100 in line. Tijuana-style, hand-made corn tortillas, counter service.
- For The Win opened Thursday, March 19, with a free burger for the first 500 guests. Smash patty, grilled onions, pickles, signature fry sauce, Martin's potato bun.
They joined a food hall lineup that already included ai Pazzi Pizza, Pearls Oyster & Crudo Bar, and Nom Wah, plus stand-alones like Jade Asian Kitchen, Wineaux, and Hawthorn Grill on the property. Tacos 1986's Victor Delgado told local press the Summerlin decision was intentionally off-Strip, aimed at catering local gatherings and connecting with residents.
For someone in Woodridge, the practical outcome is a second walk-up dinner option about a mile from the first, with parking that isn't Wednesday-concert-night chaos.
Mapping A Real Tuesday Night
A concrete Tuesday in August, using only things that exist:
- 6:00 p.m. Fitness on The Lawn at Downtown Summerlin. Bring a mat.
- 6:45 p.m. Walk five minutes to Marufuku on Festival Plaza Drive. Patio if the temperature has dropped, kushiyaki either way.
- 7:05 p.m. Aviators first pitch. On Aug 4 or Aug 11 the club plays as Las Vegas Reyes de Plata, the Copa de la Diversión identity that runs 12 Tuesday home games this season.
- Postgame. Walk back to the car at Downtown Summerlin's free garage.
Nothing on that list existed as a single sequence in 2023. The ballpark did, the walking did, but the Tuesday-night dining option two blocks from The Lawn is 2026-new, and the twelve consecutive home nights that make the ballpark reliable through mid-August are a schedule feature this year in particular.
The Willows Half Doesn't Get Ignored
The reason this stack works is that the private amenities absorb the mornings and the shoulder hours the public calendar doesn't cover. Willows Park's community center hosts fitness classes and seasonal programming reserved for residents. The paseo is the pedestrian spine that connects your front door to Spotted Leaf without crossing anything major. Trail spurs from the village feed into the Peccole Ranch network and, through Summerlin's broader trail system, on toward Red Rock Canyon.
The Aesop's Fables sculptures along the paseo are not a marketing tag. The Lion and the Mouse and the Tortoise and the Hare are actually there, at a scale that a kid walking past reads as a landmark. That is the sort of detail that shows up on a listing description as one line and shapes daily life for twenty years.
That's the argument, distilled. The private amenities are what makes the walk to Hub Two worth doing in the first place. Without Willows Park in the morning, the Wednesday-night walk to The Lawn is just a Wednesday-night walk to The Lawn.
What's Already On The October Page
Two things to hold for the fall calendar. The Summerlin Festival of Arts hits its 30th year at The Lawn from Oct 9 through Oct 11, running 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. all three days, with more than 100 juried artists and kids programming. And the Aviators, having clinched a 2026 Pacific Coast League playoff spot on June 20, are set to host the second-half champion in the PCL best-of-three LCS starting Tuesday, Sept. 22, with Las Vegas Ballpark hosting the Triple-A National Championship Game on Sept. 26.
Which is to say: if August feels like a lot, September and October keep the pattern going without asking you to leave the neighborhood.
